CONCEPT
The work emerged as a personal journey through grief — from the experience of loss toward acceptance and light. It explores grief as a non-linear and embodied process, expressed through organic, spherical forms made of handmade paper. Drawing on Elisabeth Kübler-Ross’s five stages of grief — denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance — the work does not assign each stage to a separate object, but instead treats them as overlapping states that coexist within matter, structure, and light.
The creative process mirrors this journey: from collecting plant material in a place connected to memory and loss, through transforming it into paper, to shaping closed, organic, cocoon-like forms that hold both absence and presence. Paper becomes a carrier of memory, while the internal light emerging from within the structures symbolizes hope, transformation, and the gradual acceptance of loss.
MATERIAL
The objects are made of handmade paper from cattail fibers (Typha latifolia) — a plant typical of wetland environments that symbolizes the natural cycle of life — growth, passing, and renewal. The fibrous structure of cattail gives the paper a raw, tactile quality — fragile yet resilient — reflecting the complex, layered nature of grief.

KONCEPCJA
Praca powstała jako osobista podróż przez żałobę — od doświadczenia straty ku akceptacji i światłu. Bada żałobę jako proces nieliniowy i ucieleśniony, wyrażany poprzez organiczne, sferyczne formy wykonane z papieru ręcznie robionego. Odwołując się do pięciu etapów żałoby Elisabeth Kübler-Ross — zaprzeczenie, gniew, targowanie się, depresja i akceptacja — praca nie przypisuje każdego etapu osobnemu obiektowi, lecz traktuje je jako nakładające się stany współistniejące w materii, strukturze i świetle.
Proces twórczy odzwierciedla tę podróż: od zbierania materiału roślinnego w miejscu związanym z pamięcią i stratą, przez jego przekształcenie w papier, aż po formowanie zamkniętych, organicznych, kokonopodobnych form, które zawierają zarówno nieobecność, jak i obecność. Papier staje się nośnikiem pamięci, podczas gdy wewnętrzne światło wydobywające się z struktur symbolizuje nadzieję, przemianę i stopniową akceptację straty.
