OBJECT 0.09
The work Object 0.09 was created through an experimental process of transforming plant fibers into handmade paper, which is then shaped into a three-dimensional form. The process encompasses all stages — from collecting plant materials, through turning them into paper pulp, to hand-forming the final object.
The form of the work combines the boundaries of printmaking and the tradition of plant impressions on biological tissue. The circular shape was chosen intentionally: it symbolizes continuity, harmony, and the cycle of life, as well as the absence of a beginning or end, reflecting the natural rhythm of nature and the transformation of matter. The surface of the object, often irregular and porous, highlights both the natural structure of the fibers and the traces of the artist’s manual intervention, revealing the tension between fragility and resilience.
The colors used in the work come exclusively from natural sources — plants, bark, and other organic materials — emphasizing the direct connection between the object and nature and its life cycles.
An important aspect of the work is the relationship between nature and memory. The fibers, sourced from specific locations, carry environmental and biographical context, becoming a record of experience and time. Paper functions here as a medium of memory — a trace that is both material and ephemeral.
The object balances between sculpture and record, between spatial form and the process that shaped it. As a result, it becomes a reflection on the transformation of matter, the relationship between humans and nature, and the possibility of preserving the ephemeral within an organic medium
